New-York’s Metropolitan Opera in bankrupcy : Should we blame the public ?

Bankrupcy is expected for the Metropolitan Opera within two or three years. According to the general director, Peter Gelb, although artistic productions generate important ticket sales, these are no longer sufficient to cover skyrocketing costs.
