The company Nielsen collected responses to a 2014 internet survey on musical consumption from 2581 people, who were based in the United States and at least 13 years old. Classical music only represented 1.1% of the total music consumption. Of all the results, some caught our attention. First, 61% of people said they discover music through the radio and 45% through friends. Listeners mostly prefer to pay for music if they can attend a live concert. Of all types of concerts, music festivals are preferred at 11%, followed by concerts in a bar or club, and concerts with either one main act or a few artists.
