Attending a 60 minute concert reduces biological stress, independently of audience age or musical knowledge. These results have been discovered by two British researchers, Daisy Fancourt and Aaron Williamon (Royal College of Music, Imperial College), who compared audience saliva before and after an orchestral concert of American composer Eric Whitacre. Researchers now consider, from a physiological perspective, that music has a positive effect on a society’s health. To learn more about the study, click here!
