“Classical music is not only competing with more modern musical genres, but with its own reputation: that of being exclusive to educated, white, middle-aged, and middle-class people,” according to the journal The Economist. In order to detach the music from its shadow, multiple projects have been developed in order to promote classical music in a different way. Of those projects, a festival of classical music at the Barbican in London caught our attention. The festival offers 40 minutes of repertoire, played on four different stages, at the same time. Festival-goers are invited to wander from stage to stage, to take pictures, with a beer in hand. To learn more about it, click here!
