A step beyond the mass production of musical instruments, it is now possible to 3D print instruments at home. Isn’t it surprising that an acoustically complex instrument such as a violin can simply be printed and actually sound like a real instrument? What will the consequences of this new technology be in the everyday life of people who play music? Will this democratization result in an increase in music amateurs?
