Teaching the experience of musical to audiences

Megan Ihnen, mezzo-soprano singer, sees musicians as much more than instrumentalists. A responsibility as important as instrumental technique rests on their shoulders: the success of the emotional experience given to audience. The author explains that reaching people emotionally is as important as  interpretative decisions. According to her, music institutions should think about the question of public experience, in order to find ways to establish stronger relationships between artist and audience.
