In an article for The Huffington Post, filmmaker David Donnelly discusses the economic, social, and cultural repercussions of failing orchestras in the United States. Donnelly is also using the fundraising platform Kickstarter to finance his documentary Maestro. The film will make a contemporary portrait of the world of classical music, documenting the everyday life of the Grammy award-winning conductor Paavo Jarvi and including interviews with musicians such as Joshua Bell, Lang Lang, Hilary Hahn, and Pekka Kuusisto.
